Paulina Onvomaha Tindana

POTPaulina Onvomaha Tindana is a Bioethicist on the Ethical, Social and Cultural (ESC) Advisory Service team of the Grand Challenges in Global Health Program based at MRC and a research officer of the Navrongo Health Research Centre in northern Ghana. She received first class honours in English and Linguistics from the University of Ghana and subsequently a Masters of Health Sciences degree from the University of Toronto in 2004, where she studied International Bioethics at the Joint Centre for Bioethics on a Fogarty grant.  Prior to joining the MRC team, Paulina’s research work at the Navrongo Health Research Centre has involved conducting empirical research on reproductive health issues, informed consent, drug advertisements on health seeking behavior as well community engagement and dissemination activities. She was instrumental in the setting up of an institutional review board at her institution following a successful one-year Fogarty training programme at the Johns Hopkins Bioethics Institute. In addition to her role on ESC Advisory Service team at the MRC, she is also currently conducting a case study on community engagement in the Kassena-Nankana district of northern Ghana which is part the ESC’s Global Case Study on Community Engagement in Developing Countries.
