May Sanaee

May Sanaee is a Master of Science candidate at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto.  She joins the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health after completing an Honours degree in Biology and French at McMaster University with a focus in Infectious Disease.  Her previous research experience ranges from microbiology, neuroscience and neuroradiosurgery to the Inuit Housing Crisis in Nunavut.  May will be studying the motivations and deterrents to South-South collaborations in Genomics Innovation under the supervision of Dr. Halla Thorsteinsdóttir.  May will carry out first hand research specifically on China’s collaboration with and Sub-Saharan African countries.
