Mark Messih

mm_picMark Messih is a Master of Science Candidate with the University of Toronto's Institute of Medical Sciences. He joined the MRC in May 2007 after obtaining his Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Genetics and Health Studies from McMaster University. As a summer student and later as a research assistant, he worked with the Regenerative Medicine Ethics Network, discussing the ethical concerns raised by neuroregenerative research in Canada. Working with Dr. Abdallah Daar  and Dr. Claudia Emerson, he will be focusing on the state of neuroregenerative medicine in the developing world, highlighting potential ethical, social and legal issues of research in this field. He previously worked with organizations such as the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and has held lab positions at McMaster University and The Free University of Brussels.
