Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish to visit the University of Toronto on April 6, 2009

Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish has generously agreed to present a lecture for the Dalla Lana School entitled 'Peace building through medicine and public health: Lessons from the Middle East'.

Dr. Abuelaish is a physician from Gaza, trained in public health, who has worked for many years in Israeli hospitals treating both Palestinian and Israeli patients. He came to international attention in early 2009 when, tragically, his daughters were killed in the latest conflict. He will discuss his peace building efforts and ongoing commitment to peace in the region.

All faculty, administrators, researchers and students engaged in public health are invited to attend this seminar.
